Daylight is a thin, silver-and-black striped she-cat, with sky-blue eyes.
Gentle-hearted, careful, timid. She enjoys being around other cats very much.
- Daylight was caught by the pound as a kitten, while her brothers desperately tried to free her. But the Twolegs also captured them and threw them in the cage with Daylight. She was joyful that her brothers had reunited, but the pound they were going to was illegal. They drove away in intense terror.
- The greedy pound owners tossed all three kits into a single, filthy cage with barely food and no water. After a week the kits began to starve, and one of Daylight's brothers died. It was just her and Marco now. One day, as Daylight was beginning to die slowly and painfully, and Marco dull and unkept, the police found out about the illegal pound and arrested its workers. They took the animals away to a different shelter for medical attention and proper care. Daylight was separated from her brother in this process and went through a long series of depression. Concerned, the veternarians decided to set her free, for they did not know Marco was the one she wanted.
- Daylight, now somewhat healthy, raced through the streets and alleys of Twolegplace. She found a comfortable, warm place to live with another tom named Bumble. They became close friends. But one day, Bumble was desperate to become mates with her, and decided to abuse her until she agreed. Daylight managed to excape from the tomcat and found out that her brother, Marco, now lived with Twolegs as a kittypet. She thought about this carefully and followed her brother's footsteps.
- Daylight and her brother were happily reunited again, and they grew a year older each. Soon Marco found a rogue mate and they had kits together, and he ran away from home to be with her and the kits. Daylight was left utterly alone once more. The Twolegs loved Marco much more than her and neglected her. This upsetted the she-cat very much, and they forced her to live in the garden in the backyard. She was starved and uncared for, for the Twolegs had forgotten about her. She seeks to escape the horrible place and find a mate, but a barbed-wire fence surrounds the yard, and she can't escape.
